May 24th Meal Prep

If there's one thing that makes our week run smoother, it's a solid Sunday prep session. With five kids, a homestead to manage, and a full week ahead, having a little bit of food ready to grab makes all the difference between a calm morning and a chaotic one. This week I knocked out seven different things, and I want to walk you through all of it. Simple food, real ingredients, and a fridge that actually works for you.

What We're Making This Week-

Homemade tortillas-Exclusive to the Kitchen Collective & Recipe Books

Soft, fresh, and miles ahead of anything in a plastic bag at the store — these tortillas are a staple in our kitchen. Once you make them yourself, it's really hard to go back. I used them this week as the base for our breakfast burritos, which meant mornings were pretty much already handled before the week even started.

Breakfast burritos- Homemade breakfast sausage sounds like a project, but I promise it's not. Seasoned exactly the way we like it, no fillers, no unecessary Ingredients. I loaded it into burritos with eggs, rolled them up individually, and stacked them in the fridge. My kids can grab one, warm it up, and have a real breakfast in under two minutes.

Bacon ranch chicken crescents- These are a household favorite and honestly, I don't think I'll ever hear a complaint about them. Buttery, flaky homemade crescent dough stuffed with bacon, chicken, and ranch. They're the kind of thing that disappears before I even get a chance to put them away properly. Great for lunch, great for a snack, great for dinner in a pinch.

Homemade granola bars- Exclusive to the Kitchen Collective & Recipe Books

Chewy, satisfying, and genuinely cheaper and better than anything you'd pull off a store shelf. I know what's in them, my kids love them, and they hold together the way a granola bar actually should.

Strawberry yogurt clusters- These little snacks are so easy and so good. Creamy yogurt, fresh strawberries, and a chocolate coating that makes them feel a little bit special. I made a big batch and they are perfect for an afternoon snack or something sweet after dinner without going overboard.

Roasted Chicken- A whole roasted chicken is one of the hardest working things you can put in your fridge. This week it became part of our dinners, got tucked into lunches, and even made its way into the crescents. One bird, multiple meals. That's the kind of cooking that actually stretches your grocery budget and your time.

Sandwich Bread- The backbone of a well-stocked fridge. Homemade bread means better sandwiches, better toast, and nothing on the label you can't pronounce. Slice it, store it, freeze it, it works all week long.
