Bakery Style Cinnamon Rolls

Updated: Dec 21, 2025

There's something magical about the smell of homemade cinnamon rolls baking in the oven on a cozy morning. That warm, sweet aroma filling your kitchen, the soft dough pillowing up in the oven, and those swirls of cinnamon sugar peeking through – it's the kind of moment that makes you grateful you chose to bake from scratch. These homemade cinnamon rolls are tender, fluffy, and generously swirled with buttery cinnamon filling, topped with a simple cream cheese frosting that melts right into every bite. They're easier to make than you might think, and the results are so much better than anything you'd find at the store!

Here's a little tip that's been a game-changer in our kitchen: I doubled this recipe and froze half of the unbaked rolls for later. After shaping them, I placed them on a baking sheet and froze them solid, then vacuum sealed them for long-term storage. They'll keep beautifully in the freezer for 6-9 months this way, which means you can have fresh cinnamon rolls any time the craving hits. Just pull them out the night before, let them thaw in the fridge overnight, then for 1 hour on the counter, top with your heavy cream and bake them fresh in the morning.
