Various foods from 12/15 - 12/21 on the menu, pizza, pasta, and more.

We’re another week deeper into fall, and this is when home starts to feel especially sweet to me. The cooler evenings make warm dinners feel a little more comforting, the days seem to slow down earlier, and we’re getting closer and closer to the holiday season. I love letting our meals follow the seasons too, more soups simmering on the stove, bread rising on the counter, and dinners that make everyone want to linger around the table just a little longer.

A little fall homemaking tip for this week: start a small freezer stash before the holidays arrive. Whenever you’re already making something that freezes well - bread dough, soup, shredded meat, muffins, cookie dough- make a little extra and tuck it away. You don’t need an entire freezer-cooking day! Doubling one thing here and there can quietly build a stash that you’ll be very thankful for on busy November and December days. Even a few ready-to-go meals or loaves of homemade bread can make home feel a little more peaceful during one of the busiest seasons of the year.

Here is your weekly menu, tips for prepping ahead, and grocery list!

pot roast, mashed potatoes, green beans

If you're new here:

Fridays are our pizza and movie nights! We don't have a TV in our home, so every friday we set up the projector and make pizzas!

Saturdays are "Restaurant Nights"! I create a cute little menu with all our leftovers, and the kids get to "order" what they want! It makes cleaning out the fridge feel like a special event instead of a lame leftover dinner. We do that every Saturday to empty out the fridge for grocery day on Sunday! It also helps ensure Mama gets a REST on Saturdays and I don't have to actually cook dinner!
