10/12-10/18 On the Menu

There’s something about the first stretch of true fall weather that makes me want to slow everything down a little. The days are getting shorter, the evenings are cooler, and suddenly I’m reaching for the cozy recipes again, the ones that simmer on the stove, fill the kitchen with the best smells, and bring everyone around the table at the end of the day.
With the holidays right around the corner, this season can so easily become one of rushing from one thing to the next. But I’m trying to be intentional about not wishing these ordinary fall days away. Simple dinners, slower evenings at home, and a little prep ahead of time can make such a difference. This week’s meal plan is full of comforting, family-friendly meals that feel perfect for these cooler days and hopefully make getting dinner on the table just a little easier, too.
Here is your weekly menu, tips for prepping ahead, and grocery list!
Monday | Crockpot Butter Chicken + Rice |
Tuesday | Chili + Cornbread |
Wednesday | Chicken Broccoli Orzo |
Thursday | Shepherds Pie |
Friday | Homemade Pizzas |
Saturday | Left Overs / Restaurant Night |
Sunday | Marry Me Chicken Soup + Artisan Loaf |
If you're new here:
Fridays are our pizza and movie nights! We don't have a TV in our home, so every friday we set up the projector and make pizzas!
Saturdays are "Restaurant Nights"! I create a cute little menu with all our leftovers, and the kids get to "order" what they want! It makes cleaning out the fridge feel like a special event instead of a lame leftover dinner. We do that every Saturday to empty out the fridge for grocery day on Sunday! It also helps ensure Mama gets a REST on Saturdays and I don't have to actually cook dinner!
